Graduation internship: market research Next Gen Sequencing for pathogen detection

Floris van Eisden

I am doing my graduation internship at Microbial Analysis as part of my master's degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Groningen. Within my master's I am working on the Science, Business and Policy track, which combines science with business.

For my internship, I am looking at the advantages and disadvantages of Next Generation Sequencing compared to other pathogen detection techniques and which markets there are for pathogen detection. Subsequently, I will explore what market potential there is for Microbial Analysis to enter with Next Gen Sequencing. For this, I undertake a lot of literature research and interviews and further, I search online for relevant company information.

This internship is ideal in terms of the objectives of my education and Microbial Analysis is a nice company, with a good working atmosphere.
