People oriented leader and creative innovator with helicopter view
During his childhood on a dairy farm and his master Chemistry Sytze became intrigued by the microbial world and the resourcefulness of nature. His belief that many environmental problems can be solved with the power of nature, resulted in the founding of Bioclear earth in 1988, as a spin-off company of the University Groningen.
In the nineties the European Space Agency (ESA) commissioned Bioclear earth, to design a biological air filter for manned space stations and to develop a quick and reliable identification technique for bacteria. This led to the birth of a new Bioclear company: Microbial Analysis, which further specialized in DNA/RNA technology. Sytze has a gift to think outside the box and to come up with unexpected visions and solutions. He knows how to stimulate and challenge people and how to bring out the best in them.
